Martin Ching

Dr Martin Ching is an expert Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and has a practice located in Geelong. 

He is also a trained Lawyer, Doctor and Dentist. 

With a passion for the arts, Dr Ching is keen to foster a strong, diverse and potentially internationally recognised film industry in the Geelong region. 


Patrick Rowan

treasurer / secretary

The Founder of Geelong Accounting Firm, Patrick Rowan & Associates, Patrick is a well known Geelong name, assisting clients for over 50 years. 

Participating in many community projects and discussion groups, Patrick takes a lead role in the accounting issues facing the Geelong community and the profession as a whole. 

Patrick is keen to see Geelong become a major player in the film industry.

Belinda Lyle

executive director

Belinda has a wide range of experience in people management, public relations, content marketing, social media and event management. 

Running her own business, B well connected, Belinda works with clients to connect, raise and nurture ideas. 

She is looking forward to seeing more filming happening in the region and putting the spotlight on the talent that already exists in Geelong and emerging filmmakers.

Michael Stangel


An Australian record producer, singer, songwriter, and a finalist in The Voice Australia, 2013, Michael also has his own production management company and represents artists including Taylor Henderson and Justice Crew.

With a strong interest in production, Michael is keen to support emerging artists. 


Laura Bentley


An Intellectual Property Lawyer at Harwood Andrews, Laura commenced her  career in publishing. Her experience extends to the negotiation of film and television options. 

Passionate about the arts, Laura particularly values working with people in the visual, performing or literary arts to commercialise and protect their creative works. 

Andrew Lawson


Andrew was the inaugural Executive Officer of  the Geelong Community Foundation, contributing to the organisation for over 16 years.  Prior to this, he was Chairman of United Way (now Give Where You Live). 

Andrew is passionate about the Geelong community and supporting filmmaking in Geelong. 


Gavan O'Connor


Gavan is an Australian politican who was an ALP member of the Australian House of Representatives (1993-2007), representing the Division of Corio, Victoria. 

With a strong interest in filmmaking, Gavan owns two production companies. 

He is keen to see Geelong’s next move to be in film and television, creating a viable industry in the region.

Chris Bryan


With a 30 year career spanning graphic design, marketing, video production, voiceover for radio, television and corporate film, Chris has established his media production company, moomedia, as one of the region’s most productive.

A regular podcaster and radio host, specialising in arts and culture, Chris is excited to help showcase the amazing talent of the Geelong region to the global film production market.

Waterfront Film Foundation is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors, representative of a cross section of  interests and industries including business and the arts.
