Patrick Rowan

The Founder of Geelong Accounting Firm, Patrick Rowan & Associates, Patrick is a well known Geelong name, assisting clients for over 50 years.
Participating in many community projects and discussion groups, Patrick takes a lead role in the accounting issues facing the Geelong community and the profession as a whole.
Patrick is keen to see Geelong become a major player in the film industry.
Belinda Lyle
executive director & Acting Chair
Belinda has a wide range of experience in people management, public relations, content marketing, social media and event management.
Running her own business, B well connected, Belinda works with clients to connect, raise and nurture ideas.
She is looking forward to seeing more filming happening in the region and putting the spotlight on the talent that already exists in Geelong and emerging filmmakers.
Meryl Whiteside J.P.
Director
Meryl brings a wealth of experience across film, television, and theatre, with a career
incorporating producing, directing, lighting, continuity, choreography, and performing.
Her keen eye for storytelling has shaped a wide range of creative projects, from television and film dramas to enchanting children’s touring shows. Meryl has her own travel YouTube channel, Aussie Boomers Travel.
Beyond her work in the arts, Meryl has demonstrated a deep commitment to community service as a Justice of the Peace for 18 years. She has also played a pivotal role in local creative initiatives, serving as an inaugural committee member and Vice President of the Multi-Arts Centre in Torquay.
Gavan O'Connor
Director
Gavan is an Australian politican who was an ALP member of the Australian House of Representatives (1993-2007), representing the Division of Corio, Victoria.
With a strong interest in filmmaking, Gavan owns two production companies.
He is keen to see Geelong’s next move to be in film and television, creating a viable industry
Waterfront Film Foundation is governed by a small voluntary Board of Directors, representative of a cross section of interests and industries including business and the arts. Passionate and hardworking individuals form sub-committees including the Funding Development Committee, Grants Committee and the PR & Events Committee. The Board also has the support of a number of individuals on the Board Advisory Group.
