We had an incredible evening with Jackson Tozer at our May 2024 Friends of Geelong Waterfront Film Meet-Up. A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made the night so special.
Originally from Portland, Victoria, Jackson is a multi-award-winning Actor, Writer, and Director based in Melbourne. His journey from humble beginnings to international stardom is nothing short of inspirational. With impressive credits like “THIS IS LITTLETON” and “RICKY STANICKY,” where he starred alongside John Cena and Zac Efron, Jackson has truly made a significant mark on both Australian and global screens. Not only an actor, but Jackson also continues to write and direct his own work, showcasing his multifaceted talent in the industry.
The event, held at the Barwon Club, featured a captivating conversation between Jackson and our very own Geelong Waterfront Film Foundation Director, Ryan Chamley. Jackson shared his incredible journey, from the early days of his career to his current success, highlighting the trials, tribulations, passion, and energy required to thrive in the competitive world of film. His story is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of chasing one’s dreams.

A bit more about Jackson Tozer
Jackson Tozer got his start writing and performing for the ABC sketch series THIS IS LITTLETON (2014).
In 2024 he worked alongside John Cena & Zac Efron in the Peter Farrelly comedy film RICKY STANICkY (PrimeVideo).
Jackson has played a multitude of characters on both Australian and international screens including:
DEADLOCH (PrimeVideo), THE NEWSREADER (ABC), MR INBETWEEN (FX), FIVE BEDROOMS (Paramount+), HATCHBACK (AACTA nominated: Best Short).
He continues to write & direct his own work. Varying from short films like UBER X-CITING DAY (Peninsula Film Festival: Best Screenplay), THE DIVORCE (Hollywood Indie film Awards: Best Comedy, Best Screenplay.
About Ryan Chamley
Ryan Chamley is an award-winning writer/director and co-owner of Robot Army Productions, Geelong.
In 2016, his debut project ‘Rostered On’ made Australian television history as the first independent comedy acquired by Netflix, with the second season commissioned by 7mate.
He also wrote and directed ‘My Friend Anxiety’ in 2021, which won “Best Screenplay” at The Hollywood Short Film Festival. Following the success of “Rostered On”, Ryan went on to develop ‘Counter Girls’.
Currently, Ryan is working on his debut feature film and exploring animation, continuing to showcase his passion for storytelling and innovation in filmmaking.
