About Michala Banas

Michala Banas is a multi award-winning film, television and theatre actor.

Born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, Michala’s career began very early with her first film credit at the age of 5.

Since then, she has forged a remarkable career, starring in over 90 film, television and theatre productions.

She’s the go-to girl for drama in Australia.

Michala has appeared in Always Greener, McLeods Daughters and Halifax Retribution to name a few), Michala has more recently been in high demand for comedy after the huge international success of Upper Middle Bogan, in which she plays the much loved and feisty Amber Wheeler.

Michala is also an Intimacy Coordinator, writer, director and founding member and co-artistic director of Green room nominated theatre company, The KIN Collective. 

Most recently, Michala has completed filming a short film she wrote, co-directed and starred in alongside her father John.

She is currently working on a TV drama in Queenstown New Zealand, before she heads north to Brisbane to perform in a play in a few months’ time for the Brisbane Festival.

About Ryan Chamley

Ryan Chamley is an award-winning writer/director and co-owner of Robot Army Productions, Geelong. 

In 2016, his debut project ‘Rostered On’ made Australian television history as the first independent comedy acquired by Netflix, with the second season commissioned by 7mate.

He also wrote and directed ‘My Friend Anxiety’ in 2021, which won “Best Screenplay” at The Hollywood Short Film Festival. Following the success of “Rostered On”, Ryan went on to develop ‘Counter Girls’.
