We’re beyond excited to see one of our inaugural Geelong Waterfront Film Grant recipients, Scott Day, making waves with feature film Wanda & Sully – and even better, you can catch it at The Pivotonian Cinema this April.
Scott Day – A Film Writer Who Never Gave Up
Still in his late twenties, Scott Day’s journey to making Wanda & Sully is nothing short of inspiring. While studying at Victorian College of the Arts, Scott poured everything into bringing his film to life – even working in a Breakwater meat factory to help fund production!
Thanks to his determination (and what he says felt like a million emails), he secured a distributor against the odds, proving that persistence pays off in the film industry.
Scott is passionate about storytelling and the power of film – and now, his work is hitting the big screen for all of us to enjoy.

Think high school politics meets investigative thriller…
When high-schoolers Wanda and Sully uncover shady dealings by their school’s Student Representative Council President, they must work together to expose the truth.
Filmed right here in Victoria (including a Lara Woolworths car park cameo), this is local filmmaking at its finest.
